The site where I bought it was very professional and the description of the Photive battery grip contained no typo's, poor grammar or misspelled words which are warning signals to me. This item arrived promptly and I'm very satisfied with the quality. Although I had to tinker with it the first time I attached it to the camera, once properly seated it fits my D5100 perfectly. It may not be of Nikon quality but it's hard to tell and for the price, I doubt if any of the others are better made.You have to plug the grip into one of the ports on the side of the camera in order to use the shutter release on the grip to shoot verticals, a necessary workaround since Nikon never planned to make a battery grip for the D3100 and D5100 and didn't configure them to accept one.
